In the town of Bailleul, near Lille, France, detective Pharaon De Winter lives with his mother and grapples with a gruesome case: an eleven-year-old girl has been raped and murdered. Over the course of a week, Pharaon investigates the crime while also coping with his own emotional turmoil, his face remaining nearly expressionless throughout.
