Eva Arctander is born with hypertrichosis, meaning that she is covered from head to toe with fine blonde hair. Her father is so ashamed of her that he hides her away from the world in their apartment. However, Eva’s nanny fights for her right to be treated like everyone else.
Zusammenfassung
Eva Arctander enters the world cloaked in an unprecedented veil of fine blonde hair, a condition known as hypertrichosis. Her father, grief-stricken over his wife's death during childbirth and horrified by Eva's appearance, sequesters her within their apartment. Yet Eva's devoted nanny champions her right to lead a normal life, fighting for her independence against her father's shameful isolation. As Eva navigates the world beyond her home, she encounters a spectrum of reactions—revulsion, acceptance, exploitation—but endures with intellect, humor, and an indomitable inner strength that sees her triumph over adversity.
