Jane Chase, a young graduate student, becomes the assistant to an eccentric zoology professor in his remote Scottish home. The professor shares his residence with two chimpanzees and Link, an elderly orangutan butler who serves as the housekeeper. However, tension arises when one of the chimps dies mysteriously.
