Story
El árbol de la sangre interweaves two stories set 25 years apart in the Basque Country of Spain. Twenty-five years ago, Macarena, Rebeca's mother, was a famous rock singer who retired after becoming pregnant. Meanwhile, Nuria, Marc's mother, was forced to leave her summer house due to threats from a Russian mob looking to use it as a headquarters. Macarena later meets Victor, a fan who falls in love with her and assumes Rebeca as his own daughter. Concurrently, Nuria works as a literary editor, meets Amaia, an aspiring writer whose first novel becomes a hit, and marries Olmo, Victor's brother. As the story progresses, it's revealed that Macarena suffers from mental illness, Victor struggles with drugs, and Amaia's marriage to Olmo crumbles due to his past connections with the Russian mob. Amaia decides to write a novel exposing their secrets.
