Bethany Orr, known professionally as Effie Lavore, was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she and her siblings were home-schooled with limited media access. She discovered theater and film upon entering high school and joined Theatrical Garbage improv group, becoming the youngest comedienne to perform weekly at a local comedy club. Orr initially pursued science, earning a degree from the University of Colorado, but later chose a career in entertainment. She has acted in TV shows like 'Criminal Minds' and 'Stalker', and appeared in various films and web projects. In 2015, she starred in the feature film 'Excess Flesh' (SXSW 2015).
