Allanah Starr is a Cuban-born American trans woman known for her work as a performance artist, model, and former adult film actress. Born in Cuba, she emigrated to the United States with her family at the age of five and grew up in Miami, Florida. She began her career as a performance artist in the Miami nightlife scene during the mid-90s before relocating to New York City around 1999.
Starr gained significant recognition in the adult entertainment industry, winning the AVN Award for Transsexual Performer of the Year in 2008. Beyond adult film, she has also worked as an event promoter, director, and artist. Starr uses her public platform to advocate for the understanding and acceptance of transgender people. She has appeared in various media and public speaking engagements to share her journey and experiences, aiming to educate others and foster respect for the LGBTQ+ community. She has also been a subject for art pieces, notably modeling for the British artist Marc Quinn's sculpture Buck & Alannah in 2009. She also wrote and starred in her own one-woman show titled "An evening with Allanah Starr, The Life of a Real Woman with a fake passport" in Paris.
