Growing up in the Tiu Keng Leng neighborhood as the daughter of a former Kuomintang official, she entered the entertainment industry at the age of 15, debuting in the critically acclaimed film Lonely Fifteen (1982), which earned her a nomination for Best New Performer at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
Throughout the 1980s and 90s, she became celebrated as a "sexy beauty," starring in notable productions such as Everlasting Love (1984) alongside Andy Lau and Stanley Kwan’s Love Unto Waste (1986). Beyond film, she gained widespread fame for her television roles, most notably portraying Daji in the 2001 TVB series Gods of Honour.
