Vollständige Biografie
Merideth Haze is an American actress primarily known for her presence in 1980s cult cinema, most notably for her central role in the surreal horror anthology Night Train to Terror (1985). Her career is uniquely tied to the prolific screenwriter and producer Philip Yordan, who cast her as the lead in the 1984 production Death Wish Club (also known as Gretta or The Dark Side of Love). When that film failed to see a traditional release, large portions of it were heavily edited and repurposed to form the third segment of Night Train to Terror, titled "The Case of Gretta Connors."
In this segment, Haze portrays Gretta, a character with an intentionally bizarre and eclectic backstory—ranging from a popcorn vendor to an adult film star and a high-society pianist. Her performance is defined by the segment's dark, obsessive atmosphere, as her character becomes the focal point of a macabre "death club" where members gamble with their lives. Despite her limited filmography, Merideth Haze remains a figure of fascination for fans of "B-movie" history and "trash" cinema due to her striking screen presence and the fragmented, dreamlike nature of her most famous work. Today, her performance is preserved through cult film distributors like Vinegar Syndrome, which restored the film for a new generation of horror enthusiasts.
