Shian Denovan is an award-winning Scottish actress, writer, and director born in February 1985. Based in Glasgow, she has established a diverse career across film, television, and theatre, gaining particular recognition for her work in the horror genre with leading roles in films such as Cat Sick Blues (2015) and Bite (2022). Her performances have earned her critical acclaim, including Best Actress at the Nice International Film Festival and Best Female Performance at Sydney's A Night of Horror International Film Festival in 2016.
In 2025, Denovan reached a major career milestone by appearing as the Nymph in Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated adaptation of Frankenstein, performing alongside Oscar Isaac and Christoph Waltz. Beyond her work in horror and high-profile features, she has starred in the Channel 4 series Murder in the Carpark (2020) and the political drama The Whip (2024). In addition to acting, she is an accomplished spoken-word poet and director, running her own production company, Affecting Films. In 2024 and 2025, she further expanded her repertoire by presenting the documentary Shaping Our Shores, which focuses on coastline conservation in Scotland.
